Pleased to meet you, I’m JSSH, an aspiring science-fiction writer.
While you’re here, let me tell you a word about who I am and why I’m starting this newsletter. I started writing science-fiction in 2014. I enjoy both soft and hard sci-fi, especially space opera, and in style lean more towards P.F. Hamilton’s writing. I love writing about aliens, exotic distant worlds, universal civilizations.
One year later, in 2015, reversal of fortune, I got into a heap of personal problems and have ended up struggling with mental illness until this day. I live with modest means, while writing and doing my best to get better.
Since I spend on average six hours a day writing, I started thinking about creating a Patreon, or something like that. Instead I’m starting something here because it feels so much more streamlined: from my word processor to your inbox, and if you’re interested, I’ll let you know how the book is going, along with short essays relating to my research and world-building. Topics will include: biology, sentient insects, space travel technologies, intersolar diplomacy, strategy for war in space, exotic psychology, and more. And when I finally manage to finish a piece, I’ll make sure you get a free copy, with my thanks.
Stay tuned this month for a demo!
Thank you for reading, and happy new year.
