New project!
A story about aliens that could be real
Hello there! Sorry to interrupt your routine, but I had to come out to you with some announcement I’m excited to make…
Believe it or not, working on my current project, I figured I didn’t know enough about aliens in a realistic way. To be more precise, I couldn’t figure out a way to make Heal’s inclusive universal civilization work with the silence we’re getting in real life from the skies. I knew for a fact, from my research, that aliens are likely to exist in our universe since at least a few billion years. Hence why the silence we’re observing doesn’t add up for me.
I discovered this precise paradox has a name, it is called the Great Filter. It is the unknown factor that makes it so that while we should already be in touch with otherworldly life, it is like an invisible barrier prevents life from soaring into space, and reach out to us. Could have to do with the laws of physics, could be that life is more likely to go extinct before the space age than we thought, could be a lot of things…
This projects introduces a new hypothesis: extraterrestrial life does exist since the very beginnings of our universe, except they came to agree on one single rule: the law of silence. This is the story of these transcendental beings and of the way they surreptitiously interfere with our projects. Hopefully it will be inspiring when it comes to knowing more about Big History (history of nature since the Big Bang) and envisioning potential sentient life in our universe.
My goal with this is to retrace the history of alien life in our universe, and get a better understanding of reasons why those beings wouldn’t communicate outwards. That way I’ll be wiser to make up reasons for the Silence in Heal. Over-zealous, maybe, but I feel that this is a crucial topic for a science-fiction writer to grasp, and what better way to understand something than to write about it?
So project Their Silence is born. And it feels so right to work on it.
Now on that note, I’ll meet you again next Saturday with the regular newsletter. As always, thank you so much for reading, it means the world to me. Until next time!
